HQ AFSOC 

 

1989-1991 AFSOC transitioned from a Numbered Air Force under MAC to a MAJCOM of its own.  AFSOC became a separate command in May 1990.  CMSgt Jimmie Shaw was the 23rd AF functional manager and continued though MAJCOM standup until 1993.  In 1994 AFSOC expanded to a third position on staff: Acquisitions and Requirements NCO.
